Rapper, Writer, Singer & Songwriter TIMryan aka Yung Timmy is still striving to make a remarkable impact on the African music industry. With two solo mixtapes, an EP comprising of over 30 tracks released in the past half a decade.
TIMryan is mostly known among his ever-growing fan base for his hit single “Kahora” off his 2019 mixtape “Melodies From The Village”. His new age style which he calls ‘Rapsing’ is a mix of his exciting mellow vocals with a rhythmic flow punctuated all through with elements of Afro sound, R&B, hip-hop and jazz which is a result of lifetime of musical influence.
Growing up TIMryan was always surrounded by different forms of music ranging from Hiphop, RnB, Country Music and a lot of Classic Music from the 60’s and 70’s which was his Dads favorite music.
He started writing his own music at a young age of 14 years Old while he was still a high school student at Thika High School, a decision he never looked back from. After realizing that music was his main skill, he began to showcase his talent in various avenues across his hometown of Nairobi and making sure that his name and music was being heard by as many people as possible. As his confidence grew and his style developed he soon saw a loyal following begin to grow and became quite popular among his peers across the city.
TIMryan is a graduate of The Technical University of Kenya, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy degree. While still pursuing his college studies, TIMryan would take part in various art, cultural and musical activities which helped develop his skill set as his name was continuing to grow.
He is keen to point out that everything he listens to directly influences his musical development in some way. However he would certainly include Eminem, West Life, Paul Simon & Art Garfunkel, Bob Marley and John Denver as amongst his biggest influences.
After graduation, TIMryan teamed up with “Gtc Beats” and “Krispah” who are sound engineers where they started the process of recording music. The coming together as a team with his sound engineers allowed him to develop as an artist and helped in his musical development.
Its seems that his sound and talent, and his loyal army of fans continues to grow and resonate well with TIMryans music and growth as the time goes by. The future is looking very bright for this vibrant young artist.
In his spare time, TIMryan spends most of his time alone writing poetry pieces, playing Tennis, taking nature walks and has very keen interest on social economic issues affecting the society. We are eagerly waiting for TIMryan to start on his touring schedule and share his great sounds with his ever growing fan base.
His projects “Faith and Grace”, “Emotions EP” & “Melodies From The Village” continue to receive a lot of love and support on social media and other digital music streaming platforms.
